2012 sucks! or at least the idea...
I am sure people will disagree with me....but I better be honest and true to myself...I felt very strongly about this movie that forced me write this blog...

What was the least did I expect when I stood in the moderately long queue for the 10:20 PM show at AMC 1000 Van ness....I knew as usual there was going to be few destruction show off's, some sort of animated cast of apocalypse coming etc., etc.,
Agreed. Great graphics, awe inspiring illustrations of the impossible and what not....but stop and take a careful second look! Where are we going with these ideas?
Should we be enjoying and encouraging all these ideas that push the fear of dooms day to the edge? Bull crap... After Independence day, The Day after tomorrow, The Day Earth Stood Still, and many others, 2012 is just another sick idea...why? because people love these ideas of civilizations getting wiped off, 100 floor buildings falling down, Millions of people dying at the same time? Poor White House, for its the default victim!
The media industry again fails to be responsible and tries to make money out by injecting fear sugar coated with thrill, when it can spread some positive magic on the people and hope to their ideas in this tough time of economic crisis.
Well, I am not saying that we should ignore the possibility of a global cataclysm, all I am saying that the movie could have been more positive and inspiring. Say we had the whole world worked on such a problem, almost all the 6 billion brains together...we would have figured some better way out...may be a brilliant fisherman in some corner of the world would have come up with the idea of building small sustainable arc's which are flexible, and the whole world could have worked on the design over the 3 years interval as depicted in the movie. 70% of the population survived the disaster...whatever...but this one on the movie was insane to tell that people would let people die or at least think about saving others only when 99% of the population is wiped clean.
I think Ronald Emmerich's proposal that 400,000 people (sorry rich or powerful people) might only stand a chance against nature is unfortunately a very rude idea to me. Let's stop encouraging these notions and have some respect for ourselves and nature. I am a very positive person and I honestly will not stand to see America, Russia, India, China, any other country or human being going down or even depicted to be so. (I seriously don't understand why would people amazed at the sight of White house, Las Vegas, Miami, China, India, Africa getting wiped off....)
Even more rude was the illustration that people can identify their true love only when such a big catastrophe hit us? Come on, be realistic and think twice before making such movies, you are sending very wrong signals.
Again people, be very careful with your thoughts..."what you wish for is what you get"...I wish hope, prosperity, joy and a very positive future to every human being in this world also Ronald and Harald both get shrinks to work on his positive mental attitude. If an apocalypse comes let me know, I will work on my design for a small, sustainable and modular global arc, while Ronald and Harald can save their share of billion dollars sorry euros to buy seats in Sister ship 67 or whatever...
2012 was very distasteful, negative, depicts destructive mentality of the director / story writer or whoever responsible and wish I had the 3 hours of time back in my life along with my money!
